Celebrating Disability Pride Month: Teacher Approved apps and YouTube Kids Playlist for Children of All Abilities

At Inclusion Matters by Shane’s Inspiration, we know when we play together, we grow together. Play is a vital vehicle that helps children with and without disabilities grow, learn, and thrive. This includes playing both on the playground – as well as in online environments.

In honor of Disability Pride Month, we are proud to announce a special partnership with Google to provide a curated collection of Teacher Approved apps list and a YouTube Kids playlist. Through our collaboration, we are featuring high-quality digital content that supports movement, play, connection, communication, and sensory processing for children of all abilities.

Check out the Teacher Approved apps here on Google Play and the video playlist here on YouTube Kids! These carefully selected apps and videos, featuring beloved brands like Sesame Street, Disney, and Lingokids, along with inspiring organizations like Fundación Ian, aim to extend the power of inclusive play beyond playgrounds, helping children and families learn and grow together in online environments.

Through our work, we have experienced the power of play firsthand. When children with and without disabilities come together on the playground…

Allison, an Inclusion Matters colleague and lifelong advocate with a disability, shares that:

“They discover common ground. Through joy, laughter, and the simple act of play, kids learn to see beyond their misconceptions about each other. They move beyond bias and become friends.”

Children express it and powerfully:

“We are included! We all play together. It is a chance to make new friends, have fun, and just be a kid.”

And parents build community:

“Families are connected to each other. These playgrounds are designed for my child, your child, every child.”

With over 80 inclusive playgrounds globally and educational programs reaching over 60,000 students and 8,000 educators, Inclusion Matters is proud to foster compassion, dignity, and inclusion for all children.
