VOLUNTEER

Are You Interested in Volunteer Work?

Do you feel a call to serve and make a difference in the lives of children with special needs and their families? We would love to hear from you! Volunteer work with Inclusion Matters by Shane’s Inspiration is rewarding, fun and it’s a great way to help others. Below are just a few of our volunteer work opportunities currently available in the greater Los Angeles area. We also help place volunteers with other inclusive play organizations around the country.

If you are interested in any of these opportunities, please fill out a Volunteer Application or email us at [email protected] or give us a call at 818.988.5676.

Corporate Ambassador

We need executive volunteers to assist us with fundraising, helping us make connections to new corporations. Whether you’ve worked in the corporate world or not, creating new partnerships is what being a Corporate Ambassador is all about. We will work closely with you to guide you every step of the way.

Community Outreach Ambassador

We regularly participate in Resource Fairs to provide information to the community. If you can help work the Inclusion Matters table at a Resource Fair, you could be a great Community Outreach Ambassador. Another possibility is greeting children with special needs on school field trips at our playgrounds through our School Transportation Program. It only requires a half hour visit during the field trip to check in with the kids and teachers to put a face to Shane’s Inspiration. We are happy to train you to be a Community Outreach Ambassador! It’s a great way to have a flexible volunteer position with lots of variety.

Office Support & Research Assistance

We are always looking for fabulous and wonderful volunteers to commit to a few hours, once a week in our Los Angeles office. Support may include mailings, general (pc) computer work, assisting with office duties and preparing for events. It’s a great way to meet other people involved with Inclusion Matters by Shane’s Inspiration and make a contribution to the organization’s future.

If you are homebound and would like to volunteer, we frequently have opportunities to help us do computer research. You can make a difference by doing some online research for us. Just fill out the application below.

Event Volunteer

Our ongoing events include our Gala, Golf, Walk & Roll, Bingo, and My PlayClub. Help with prep or day of the event for our annual Gala that takes place in March, our Golf tournament that takes place in May/June, or our Walk & Roll in September. Spend a Saturday morning at the playground volunteering at My PlayClub.

Social Media Ambassador

Do you have a large following on social media and want to donate your voice to our mission? We will provide content and guidance and you share our mission and your personal connection to Inclusion Matters by Shane’s Inspiration.

We are very fortunate to have some exceptional friends who not only shine their creative lights with brilliance, but they also shine a light on something our world needs more than ever…inclusion, acceptance, and compassion for all.

Brian Dietzen (Actor, “NCIS”), Emmanuel Kelly (Singer, “The X Factor”), Laura SanGiacomo (Actress, “Just Shoot Me”), Mason Cook (Actor “Speechless”), Micah Fowler (Actor, “Speechless”), Dmitry Chaplin (Dancer/Choreographer, “Dancing with the Stars”), and Alexis G. Zall (Actress and Comedian) are just a few of our Celebrity Ambassadors.

If you would like to help us spread our message, please contact Marci Moran at [email protected].

For Kids Interested in Volunteering

MyPlayClub is an ideal place to get started! We can either pair them up with another child as a MyPlayClub Buddy – or they can even help with the arts & crafts, helping with refreshments, handing out flyers, and more. We encourage families to come out and play to learn all about our mission.

Teens for Social Inclusion

Want to help other teens be advocates for inclusion? Join our Teens for Social Inclusion, a group of young volunteers who train and guide our new buddies at our events. Want to take it a step farther? Create a #T4SI Club at your school. Currently, there are clubs at these schools: Notre Dame, Louisville, Alemany, and Crossroads High School and Middle School.
