Why Your Child Should Hula Hoop

Hula hoops are simple, inexpensive toys that can provide a fun way to burn calories, strengthen muscles, and improve coordination for kids of all abilities and ages. Hula hoop moves connect brain and body, so it’s perfect for those with ADHD, ADD, and Autism.

Exercising with a hoop will release endorphins to help calm and relax you. Perfect for combatting any depression or anxiety we might be feeling at home these days.

Did you know that Inclusion Matters by Shane’s Inspiration uses Hula Hoops on the playground at our school field trips and play dates? We find that Hula Hoops are a great way for kids to naturally connect and adapt their play. They’re light, colorful, and very inviting!!

Our favorite ways to use them? Bubbles…one friend holds the hoop while another supports their buddy to blow bubble through it. Basketball Toss… one friend holds the hoop and our buddy, with the support of a partner throws the ball through the hoop. Both games are easily portable for high success!
