Inclusion Matters by Shane’s Inspiration was created from the brief but powerful life of Shane Alexander Williams. Born with a physical disability, his parents Catherine Curry-Williams and Scott Williams realized their son would never know the simple and powerful experience of play. Determined to change this, they joined forces with Tiffany Harris and brought the very first inclusive playground to the Western United States.
Today, Inclusion Matters by Shane’s Inspiration has grown into a powerful worldwide network of inclusive, sensory- and literacy-rich playgrounds with more on the way. Our mission has taken us to Mexico, Israel, Canada, Ecuador, Russia, Argentina, South Africa, Armenia, the Dominican Republic and beyond. Once the playgrounds open, we continue working with communities to bring social inclusion programs onto the playground and into schools!

Key to any organization’s growth, our four boards play important roles in every aspect of our work. They are comprised of leaders from a variety of industries and disciplines and help guide playground design, program development, administrative structure, fundraising, strategic alliances and more.
Many of these dedicated inclusion champions have been with our organization since its inception. Each brings a diverse array of talent, wisdom, and skills to the various facets of our work from brilliant playground designs to teaching compassion in the classroom. One thing that is common to all of our staff… a passionate belief that all children deserve to be included.
We are an international non-profit that creates play, dignity and social equity for children with disabilities through inclusive playgrounds and education programs that unite children of all abilities.
