Inclusion matters because every person matters.

Inclusion is a social justice issue and the inalienable right of every human. The joy on the playground, when I see kids play beyond their fears and find friendship, is a deep gift. The inspiration that ripples out to the parents and teachers is tangible and creates an inclusion movement in the community that touches everyone.

With a Bachelor of Arts from UCLA, Marnie Norris has worked in the non-profit field for over 23 years in program development, fundraising, and strategic planning. She has worked with the incredible team at Inclusion Matters by Shane’s Inspiration for almost two decades, facilitating social integration for tens of thousands of students with and without disabilities and creating programs, curricula and a wide variety of education material that have been replicated nationally and internationally. Marnie supports the mission by helping partner communities develop social inclusion programs once their Inclusion Matters playgrounds open. She has taught professional development workshops on social inclusion best practices for hundreds of educators, community members, and recreation professionals. She speaks at conferences on topics involving social inclusion and playground design, such as  the National Recreation and Parks Association, National Association for the Education of Young Children, International Play Association, and others.
